A Bit About Me

A Bit About Me

If I am 100% honest with the world.

That is a scary thing, right?

The fear of judgment has prevented me from doing so many things in my life.

So here it goes:

Where I am now

My deepest passion is..

In guiding clients back into a loving connection with their bodies so that they can experience the immense amount of connection available to them in each and every moment. I believe our bodies are our temples and that when we learn to honour, love, worship and connect fully to them, our lives become richer and more fulfilling than ever imagined.

My background as a yoga teacher is where I learned how important a daily movement practice is as well as the vital role food has on our physical, mental and emotional well-being. This awareness was intensified by my experiences learning from somatic coaches and practices to release stored emotion and trauma in the body.

What I have come to understand is that the most important practice for connecting to the body is to actually have conversations with it and listen to the answers. This practice of deeper listening and learning to get out of the mind and into the body is what led me to the path of Embodiment which is how I want to interact with my clients now and in the future.

Embodiment is...

EMBODIMENT IS THE INTEGRATED AWARENESS OF YOUR PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL AND ENERGETIC BEING. IT IS THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF EMBODIMENT THAT WE COME HOME TO OURSELVES AND OPEN UP TO THE INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF CONNECTION TO THE TRUE SELF AND LOVE AVAILABLE TO US

How I got here.

How did I get there?

In July 2000 I embarked on a dynamic journey to Japan as an eikaiwa teacher stationed in rural Tokoku. After a series of year long contracts at various places  over the years, I've had the privilege of living in various corners of this captivating country. Since 2008, my family and I have found solace in the serene landscapes of rural Kyushu, where we built our home in 2013.

In 2003, I married a Japanese woman, a dedicated medical doctor who took the courageous step of opening her own clinic in November 2011. Witnessing her unwavering commitment to her profession has been nothing short of inspiring.

In June 2013, I ventured into the world of photography and management, giving birth to my own company. Specializing in embodiment photography, my work primarily revolves around capturing the essence of women. It's a journey that continues to be as fulfilling as it is creatively invigorating.

Living at the intersection of Canadian and Japanese cultures has been an enriching experience. This blend of backgrounds informs my unique perspective as a photographer. It shapes how I approach each session, infusing my work with a depth and sensitivity that's truly special.

The pandemic provided a rare window for self-improvement. In 30 months of intensive coaching programs and educational experiences, I reimagined my approach to photography. This led to the creation of my own embodiment photography program, which saw numerous successful collaborations. This transformative period has deeply enriched my work, infusing it with a unique depth. I look forward to pushing boundaries in this art form, capturing moments of profound connection and self-discovery with every session.

I'm excited to share more of my story, my art, and the tapestry of experiences that have brought me to where I am today. Through my lens, I hope to not only capture moments but also the emotions and stories that lie within them.
